Since 1990 the company’s manager Andreas Born is working as a freelance production manager and has managed with his team about 30 productions. Some of his customers had been the famous German production companies ZIEGLER, BAVARIA, STUDIO HAMBURG, teamWorX, Hofmann & Voges, etc., TV-Stations: ZDF, SWR, ARD, SAT1, PRO7, etc.
2004 Ophir film was founded by ANDREAS BORN and FRANK PETZKE, an
experienced mercantilist. From the beginning VOLKER KELLNER as head of
development is on board of ophir film. Ophir film produces high quality feature films for cinema and TV-market and TV-series.
A well trained team of „freelancers“ works constantly with us.
Since 2007 we cooperate with the experienced producers Gloria Burkert and Andreas Bareiss.
Since 2010 Stefan Reiss is associate of ophir film.

The name ophir has a historical meaning: Ophir (land of gold) was called that country
where King Salomon mined his gold. Like gold-diggers ophir searches for new talents.
We try to produce every year a short movie and in two of our current projects the directors will
shoot their first long term feature film.
